Navigating my First Year: The Role of Kappa Alpha Theta in my Journey

Starting the adventure of freshman year is like stepping into a whirlwind of new experiences and challenges. Amidst the excitement and uncertainty, I found my anchor in an unexpected place – Kappa Alpha Theta, the sorority I joined during September's formal recruitment, where I discovered a community that felt like home.

Starting university can be overwhelming, but within Theta, I found a community that embraced me like family from the moment I walked through the door. Formal recruitment can definitely be a daunting process, but over the three days, it became more and more clear to me that Theta was exactly what I was looking for in a sorority.

No matter your program, starting university is a huge jump in work and academic pressure. Through this adjustment Theta has given me so many resources as well as instilling that school always comes first. As one of the four points of the kite is intellectual curiuousty, I always knew with theta that my academic career would be supported.

So many people told me how fast first year flies by, but you won’t believe it until you’re looking at the calendar and only have one month left. Now, looking back on this whirlwind of a year, I'm grateful for the resilience and sisterhood that have shaped my journey. Theta has been more than a sorority this year; it has allowed me to meet some of the most amazing women who have helped me grow and adjust into university life with ease. As I look ahead to the next 3 years of school, I am so happy to know that theta will stay a constant in my Western journey!
